Are the graduation conditions for a masters student fulfilled?
To graduate from the Hasso-Plattner-Institute, a student has to collect 120 credit points by attending courses in various modules. This page helps choosing courses that fit in a students master study plan. It also helps checking if a student already fulfills the graduation conditions.

How it works: The top part of this page allows providing input data for the decision diagram. The Documentation of Study is provided with a comma separated list of all passed courses. The Course Booklet is a list of all courses that are available at HPI. It contains information on how many credit points a course is worth and which modules it fits in. The course names in the Documentation of Study have to match those of the Course Booklet. If the example data providied was changed, hitting Reparse updates the information for the diagram. The Check button allows the initial evaluation of the provided input data. The middle part of the page shows an interactive decision diagram. For graduation, a student has to choose specialization areas and sort courses into chosen modules. Some courses can fit in multiple specialization areas and also ITSE. Here, a manual decision has to be made which course should be assigned to which module. Multiple input lists that are automatically filled with the data provided before allow testing multiple course combinations. While choosing course combinations, decisions will start to become green. A decision will be green if its conditions are fulfilled, that is, if it evaluates to true or a valid value. Also, labels will update and show different amounts of missing points. Those labels are rendered for all decisions that evaluate a number input. For example, the default data given does not fulfill Specialization Area 1, because 12 credit points are missing. It is possible to count "Human Computer Interaction Research" in VT1 instead of ITSE, and to count "Constraint-based Programming" in VT1 instead of VT2. That way, VT1 would be fulfilled and a total of 12 points would now be missing in ITSE and VT2. When hitting "Reset All Choices", all current choices in the diagram will be set to their initial state, so no course assignment will be selected. With the interactive diagram it is possible to test different combinations. The bottom part of the page provides mechanisms to store such combinations. Hitting "Save Constellation" add a list item for the current combination. By hitting "Restore Constellation", the selected item in the list will be restored.
