Portland - San Francisco by
In the beginning of July 2015 took my bike and rode along the pacific coast from Portland to San Francisco. It was a "credit card touring" endeavor during which I stopped in motels at night and only carried minimal equipment. This had the advantage that I was able to cover ~100 miles each day and finished the tour after eight days. I certainly did not consider it to be a "race" but enjoyed the challenge of riding.
This page is meant to be a somewhat "extended" version of a photo gallery. Thanks to a GPS, all route informations are available. I combined those with the photos I took and Google Maps + Streetview to allow you to follow the route.

Day 1: Portland - Lincoln City
The first day was pretty hot and I started riding early from Beaverton, a suburb of Portland. I was lucky to have found a quite route (Nestucca Road) over the mountains via Carlton as this was the Friday of the July 4th weekend and lots of people were headed towards the ocean. The road included a few miles of gravel but otherwise the road conditions were excellent.
Arriving at the Pacific I took a break in Neskowin which was pretty overcrowded. I continued to Lincoln City where I spend the night in the Cozy Cove Beach hotel, located directly at the ocean.
